The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings in Bangkok which served as the official residence of the king of Thailand from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. The palace has an area of 218,400 sq. meters and is surrounded by walls totaling 1900 meters in length. Within these walls are erstwhile government offices, Royal Residence, Emerald Buddha, and the state departments. In short it was the heart of Bangkok and continues to be revered amongst the locals. How to Get there:
Take a MRT to “Thailand Cultural Centre Station”. At Exit 1 you will find Free shuttle bus service every 15 minutes from 6:00 pm. - 8:00 pm. The Show starts at 8:00 PM sharp. Take the same route while coming back.
Touted as the must-see show of Thailand, Siam Niramit is a world-class performance of Thailand's arts and cultural heritage. It has come to be regarded as the mother of all cultural shows in Thailand in a very short span of its existence. This spectacular show is performed on the gigantic stage now listed in the Guinness World Records, featuring over 150 performers with as many as 500 costumes.
