Underground Train or Subway or MRT
Underground Train (called Subway or MRT) is similar to Sky Train except that of course, it runs underground. It connects to some more part of Bangkok and also connects to Sky Train (BTS) at some points.
This is quite useful as you can cover a good part of Bangkok using both BTS and MRT.
The announcements inside
the train are in English and easy to follow. It costs anything between 15-40 Baht depending on the distance. As such, it is advisable for a single person while a group a 3-4 would be better off taking a Taxi as far as cost is concerned.
The blue line in the map below indicates the MRT line and it connects to sky train stations at Silom (Sala Daeng), Sukhumvit (Asok) and Chatuchak Park (Mo Chit).
Take a printed map of the city (usually Hotels have one) and look for the sign , which will indicate the MRT or the Underground train station. If you would like to read more about the Underground Trains, check out there official website http://www.bangkokmetro.co.th/en/home.asp
