What is the ideal time to visit Thailand

Weather - Thailand is a tropical country and as such is warm throughout the year. Most of the time it would hover around 25 °C and so, whenever you may come you will not need warm clothes.
Theoretically, following is the way how seasons in Thailand can be described:

  • December - March : Cold Season
  • April - June : Hot Season
  • July - November : Rainy Season

Cold Season

The time from December to March is called "cold season" as but is actually just comfortable enough and as such it is also the time which witnesses highest number of Tourists. If you plan to visit Thailand during this time, make sure that you have all arrangements and reservations done in advance otherwise you may face some problems.

Hot & Rainy Season

The time from April to June is "Real Hot season" and temperature is quite high - comparable to northern part of India. The time from July to November is "rainy season" which brings relief from the oppressive heat.

The tourist inflow is less during this time, but there are good enough reasons for people to visit Thailand and in fact, "the tourist season" is fast becoming a thing of past. A quick analysis of the Indian Tourists data reveals that most of the Indian tourist come to Thailand in the months of March to June and December. This is understandable as these are the summer and winter vacation months in India.

  • Most of the hotels offer good discounts during this season. So you may plan an extra day in Thailand.
  • The malls and taxis are air-conditioned. So you won’t feel the pinch of heat if you plan well.
  • It's the best time for shopaholics as the Malls and marts offer the best bargains, deals and discounts
    during this time.
  • Thailand is well known for its night life which won’t be sultry anyways. Further, there are a lot of options for indoor day hang outs and beaches etc.

What to wear:

Since the temperature (in Central Thailand) hovers around 30 -32 Deg C for the entire year, you need to bring only summer clothing. While going out during the daytime, make sure you wear goggles, hat and carry water and an umbrella with you.

Further, don’t bother much if you forget anything as almost everything can be easily purchased in Thailand at economical prices.
